It’s a busy week on the home video front, as no fewer than six titles that received wide theatrical releases are making their way into stores. The bad news is that most of these releases are average or worse. The good news is that there’s one shining star: A Disney movie that features old-fashioned, hand-drawn animation, great music and a sweet, sweet story.

Kristoffer Polaha has high hopes for his new series, ‘Life Unexpected’
When “Life Unexpected” premieres tonight on The CW, nobody will be more anxious to see the response than former Reno resident Kristoffer Polaha.
The 32-year-old actor stars in the series, along with Shiri Appleby (“Roswell”), Brittany Robertson (“Dan in Real Life”) and Kerr Smith (“Dawson’s Creek”), and he has high hopes for its future.
“So far, this has been a really cool experience, and we’re going to see what happens with the show next week,” he said. “It’s got a really great heart. Every script is better than the last one.”

Instead of raining cats and dogs, it rains hamburgers, pickles and mustard in the animated comedy “Cloudy With a Chance of Meatballs.”
This week’s home video releases include a trite horror film, the second season of an excellent TV dramedy and a charming adaptation of a classic children’s book.
